DESIGNING WITH CONTRAST
DAMLA lamp inspired by the concept of calmness. Calmness is represented by the play of materials through the reflection of light created by the texture of glass in contrast to aluminum structure. The aluminum structure gives a sturdy bold look and at the same time, the glass which inspired by water droplet gives a contract of softness to the overall form. Three elements that represents DAMLA are the fluidity of the glass droplet form in contrast to the bold linear structure and the effect of the light passing through the glass texture creating an overall calm ambience to the spatial context.
A ‘comfortable light’ is a lamp that is enable to be carried around the house easily. It is also an object that has interaction with the users almost daily due to the nature of the activity and they fell in love with it. Damla lamp focuses on the overall experience of creating an ambience to the surroundings when it is use and the lighting effect created allows the user to feel peaceful or relax.
